چکیده
The work presented in this paper aims to continue the progress obtained in the development of a ray tracing based simulation platform for realistic doubly selective radio channels. This framework is the integration of various propagation models present in literature, with a novel method to characterise the obstacles present in the radio path, relying only in point scatterers with specific characteristics, which allows the characterisation of a wide variety of obstacles. Such simulator will allow the extraction of various parameters of the channel under simulation, such as, the received signal complex envelope, Doppler spectrum and power delay profile (PDP). This paper also presents an assessment of this simulation platform against measurements performed in a controlled environment inside an anechoic chamber. Keywords—Ray tracing; Doubly selective channels; Directional propagation models, Point scatterers.

Temporal Autocorrelation Properties of Three Dimensional Vehicle-to -Vehicle Channels in the Presence of Moving Scatterers
This paper derives the analytical expression of the temporal autocorrelation function (ACF) of the non-stationary three dimensional (3D) multipath scattering channels, in which scatterers move with constant velocities in random directions around transceivers. The analytical expression involves high dimensional integration within finite interval, thus a methodology based on ray-tracing is propos...

With the rapid growth of indoor wireless communication systems, the need to accurately model radio wave propagation inside the building environments has increased. Many site-specific methods have been proposed for modeling indoor radio channels. Among these methods, the ray tracing algorithm and the finite-difference time domain (FDTD) method are the most popular ones. The ray tracing approach ...

Multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems are well known as a technique which allows increasing the throughput of a radio link and overcoming the effects of multipath fading. However, the integration of MIMO systems into the standards of wireless networks is slow, as there are numerous problems still unsolved. This PhD thesis deals with MIMO systems in slow and fast varying radio channels. ...
متن کاملA Novel Approach for Spatially Correlated Multi-User MIMO Channel Modeling: Impact of Surface Roughness and Directional Scattering
Recent multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) research has moved from independent fading channels to correlated fading channels that better fit real wireless environments. For point-to-point MIMO, many spatially correlated statistical or experimental channel models have been presented in the literature. However, correlated multi-user MIMO channels have not yet been studied, which is critical for...
متن کاملA Novel Classification model of the Mobile Radio Channel for Multi-Input-Multi-Output (MIMO) Antenna Systems
This paper proposes a general classification of the dual directional mobile radio channel based on simple dispersion metrics. The classification is valid for narrowband channels and can qualitatively indicate the amount of support for parallel channels. Ray-tracing simulations of different dual directional radio channels have been done to validate the classification model.
